I am thrilled to share the proposed itinerary for our personally escorted December 2025 Tanzania safari!

We are excited at the possibility of having you join us on this thoughtfully curated journey that showcases the very best wildlife areas during this stunning, season of rebirth as the land once again becomes green and lush. A highlight of this safari is the chance to witness the renowned Great Migration, featuring 2 million wildebeest and 900,000 zebra. December is an exceptional time to explore Tanzania, as the herds traverse the plains, heading to the Ndutu area where they will give birth in mass during the month of February.

From the legendary Serengeti to the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater and other remarkable destinations, this safari offers unparalleled wildlife encounters. Tanzania Safari: Dec. 26, 2025 – Jan. 7, 2026

Overview:

From the lush highlands of Ngorongoro to the sweeping plains of the Serengeti, this journey is designed to immerse you in iconic landscapes and unforgettable wildlife moments—while closing out one year and welcoming the next with awe and wonder.

Dec. 26, 2025 – Departure from your home airport
Your adventure begins with an international flight bound for Tanzania.

Dec. 27 – Arrival in Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be warmly greeted and transferred to your lodge in Arusha. Settle in and relax after your travels.
Overnight: Arusha (2 nights)

Dec. 28 – Arusha
Enjoy a game drive through Arusha National Park or relax and simply soak up the beauty of the lodge.

Dec. 29 – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
We depart for the highlands, enjoy some fun stops along the way arriving at our lodge in Karatu in plenty of time to settle in, relax and enjoy a fantastic dinner.
Overnight: Ngorongoro Conservation Area (2 nights)

Dec. 30 – Ngorongoro Crater
Spend the day exploring the Ngorongoro Crater—home to Africa’s densest population of large mammals. Look for rhino, lion, elephant, and more in this breathtaking caldera.

Dec. 31 – Serengeti National Park (Central)
We journey into the legendary Serengeti with more fascinating stops along the way. As we wind through ever-changing landscapes, expect wildlife sightings all along the way.
Overnight: Central Serengeti (4 nights)

Jan. 1–3, 2026 – Central Serengeti
Kick off the New Year surrounded by the wild. A combination of full day game drives and morning and afternoon game drives provide abundant opportunities to witness big cats, elephants, giraffes, Zebras, Wildebeest, awe-inspiring bird life and more—set against endless savannas.

Jan. 4 – Southern Serengeti / Ndutu Region
We head south into the Ndutu area, part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and seasonal home to the Great Migration during calving season. We are too early for the mass calving, but you will want to keep a sharp eye out as we may see a few calves if we are lucky.
Overnight: Ndutu / Southern Serengeti (3 nights)

Jan. 5–6 – Ndutu Safari Days
This region is rich with predators, gazelles, and drama. It’s a favorite area of ours! Enjoy daily game drives with expert guides who bring this wild world to life.

Jan. 7 – Return Journey
After a final sunrise in the bush, we transfer to the airstrip for a scenic flight back to Arusha. We will spend a pleasant, albeit bittersweet day together in Arusha, enjoying a lovely lunch and perhaps doing a little last minute souvenir shopping. Transfer to JRO for your late evening departure for home.
